Rat Cerebellar Grafts Have 125I-Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide Binding Sites

چکیده
Neuropeptides and their receptors may play a role in the growth and/or differentiation of fetal brain transplants. Previously, we found that gas-trin releasing peptide (GRP) receptors develop on fetal cortex grafts transplanted into the adult rat cortex, spinal cord or 4th ventricle/1,2/. Here we investigated the presence of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) receptors in rat fetal brain transplants. Rat fetal cerebellum was transplanted into the cisterna magnum as described previously/1/.

The rat liver vasoactive intestinal peptide binding site. Molecular characterization by covalent cross-linking and evidence for differences from the intestinal receptor.
To identify the molecular components of the vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) binding sites in the liver, 125I-labelled VIP was covalently linked to liver membranes by using the cleavable cross-linker dithiobis(succinimidylpropionate). Purified rat liver plasma membranes were incubated with 125I-VIP, washed and treated with 1 mM-cross-linker. Polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis of membrane pro...
متن کاملCharacteristics of receptors for VIP in rat peritoneal macrophage membranes.
Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) receptors were investigated in rat peritoneal macrophage membranes (RPMM) using [125I]VIP as ligand. The receptor binding was rapid, reversible, saturable, specific, and dependent on time, temperature, and membrane concentration. The Scatchard analysis of binding data was consistent with the existence of two classes of VIP binding sites with Kd values of 0.60...
متن کاملCharacterization of functional receptors for vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) in rat peritoneal macrophages.
Functional vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) receptors have been characterized in rat peritoneal macrophages. The binding depended on time, temperature and pH, and was reversible, saturable and specific. Scatchard analysis of binding data suggested the presence of two classes of binding sites: a class with high affinity (kd = 1.1 +/- 0.1 nM) and low capacity (11.1 +/- 1.5 fmol/10(6) cells), a...
متن کاملPreferential binding of vasoactive intestinal polypeptide to basolateral membrane of rat and rabbit enterocytes.
Binding of radioiodinated vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) to intestinal cell membranes of the rabbit ileum and rat jejunum was investigated. Specific binding of 125I-labeled VIP could be demonstrated only on the basolateral membrane and not on the brush border membrane. This corresponded with the lack of an effect on ion transport when VIP was applied to the mucosal side of an in vitro ...
متن کاملCharacterization of receptors for glucagon-like peptide-1(7-36)amide on rat lung membranes.
Specific binding of 125I-labelled GLP-1(7-36)amide to rat lung membranes was dependent upon time and temperature and was proportional to membrane protein concentration. Binding was inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner by unlabelled GLP-1(7-36)amide consistent with the presence of a single class of binding sites with a dissociation constant (Kd) of 1.67 +/- 0.29 nmol/l. GLP-1(1-36)amide...
